Postdoctoral Researchers

JISAO provides space, computer access, administrative support, and other services for the Task I Postdoctoral Research program.

Over the past year, Task I funding supported four post-docs (Meredith Hastings, Matthieu Carré, Thomas Gorgues and Panagiotis Athanasiadis) as well as some short-term visiting scientists.

Meredith Hastings completed her work at JISAO/UW in a project entitled, "Isotopic composition of nitric acid and nitrogen oxides at Summit Greenland," in collaboration with Dr. Eric J. Steig. She has taken a faculty position at Brown University.

Matthieu Carré pioneered a technique used in reconstructing the ENSO history of the last 10,000 years from mollusk shells taken from archaeological sites in Peru and Chile. His post-doc completed, he has now taken a faculty position at Institut des Sciences de l'Evolution Montpellier (ISEM) in France.

Thomas Gorgues and Panagiotis Athanasiadis will continue in JISAO appointments as they conduct research within the School of Oceanography and the Department of Atmospheric Sciences, respectively.
