JISAO receives NOAA Bronze Award

Tom Ackerman accepts NOAA Bronze Award for Cara MariAnnaNOAA Science Camp 2010

Cara MariAnna and JISAO were awarded the NOAA Bronze Award for their years of dedication to keeping NOAA Science Camp (NSC) alive in Seattle. Cara has been a key part of the outreach component for NSC, providing funding for scholarships for students in under-represented communities who are unable to pay the registration fees. In 2009 she drove the largest NSC scholarship budget ever when the most number of requests were received. Thanks to Cara and JISAO, all scholarship needs were met even though need was as high as 30% one week.

Jed Thompson and Tom Ackerman attend the awards celebration on July 23, 2010 and Tom accepted the award on Cara's behalf.
